Description
FOREVERSEAL Industrial PTFE Teflon Tape is engineered for demanding threaded pipe connections in industrial, commercial, and automotive applications. Manufactured from 100% virgin PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) resin sourced from DongYue and JuHua - China's two largest PTFE producers - this tape delivers reliable, leak-free seals across a wide range of operating conditions.
With a medium density of 0.65 g/cm³, this tape strikes the optimal balance between conformability and sealing strength. It is thick enough to fill thread gaps effectively, yet flexible enough for easy hand-wrapping in the field. The 0.2mm thickness provides excellent gap-filling capability on coarse or worn threads common in industrial fittings.
Rated for pressures up to 3,000 PSI and temperatures from -190°C to +260°C, this tape performs in environments where pipe dope and liquid sealants degrade, dry out, or fail. PTFE's exceptional chemical inertness means it resists attack from acids, bases, solvents, fuels, and oils - making it suitable for chemical processing, HVAC, automotive, and general industrial piping systems.

Industrial-Grade Core Performance Data
Beyond the basic specifications, industrial buyers need to understand three critical performance characteristics that determine whether a PTFE tape will hold up under real-world industrial conditions:
(1) High Tensile Strength - 8 N/mm²
|
Property |
This Product |
Industry Minimum |
What It Means in Practice |
|
Tensile Strength |
8 N/mm² (MPa) |
6 N/mm² (typical commodity tape) |
Resists tearing during application on coarse or damaged industrial threads. At 8 N/mm², the tape will not shred or break when stretched over NPT, BSP, or G-thread profiles - even on worn or corroded fittings. |
|
Why It Matters |
Tearing during wrapping is the #1 field complaint with low-quality tape |
- |
A torn tape creates gaps in the seal layer, directly causing leaks. Higher tensile strength means the tape stays intact during installation - the seal you intend is the seal you get. |
|
How We Achieve It |
Premium virgin PTFE resin (DongYue/JuHua) + controlled calendering process |
- |
Virgin PTFE has inherently higher tensile strength than recycled material. Our calendering process controls the molecular orientation of the PTFE fibers, maximizing strength in the wrapping direction. |
(2) Medium-High Density - 0.65 g/cm³ (Optimized for Industrial Use)
|
Density Grade |
Cold Flow Behavior |
Sealing Performance |
Application Fit |
|
Standard (0.25-0.35) |
High cold flow - tape flows easily but thins out under sustained pressure |
Adequate for low-pressure residential use |
Not suitable for industrial piping |
|
Medium (0.35-0.8) |
Moderate, controlled cold flow - conforms to threads under compression without excessive thinning |
Optimal: fills thread gaps and maintains seal integrity over time |
THIS PRODUCT (0.65) - industrial piping, HVAC, automotive |
|
High (0.8-1.0) |
Low cold flow - minimal deformation under pressure |
Very tight seal, but harder to wrap by hand |
High-pressure industrial, gas lines |
|
Full (1.0-1.5) |
Very low cold flow - maintains shape almost indefinitely |
Maximum long-term stability under extreme conditions |
Extreme conditions, vacuum, cryogenic, oxygen |
At 0.65 g/cm³, this tape occupies the upper range of Medium density. This is deliberate: the higher end of Medium provides better pressure resistance and lower cold flow than entry-level Medium tapes, while still being flexible enough for easy field installation. For industrial buyers, this means:
Lower cold flow: Better long-term seal stability than standard-density tapes
Controlled conformability: Tape fills thread gaps effectively when compressed between mating threads
Sustained performance: Tape maintains sealing performance over years of service life
(3) Extremely Low Cold Flow (Creep) - Why It Matters for Industrial Sealing
Cold flow (also called "creep") is the tendency of a material to slowly deform under sustained mechanical stress at room temperature. All PTFE exhibits some cold flow - it is an inherent property of the material. However, density is the primary variable that controls cold flow rate in PTFE thread seal tape.
For industrial applications, cold flow matters because:
|
Factor |
Low Cold Flow (High/Full Density) |
High Cold Flow (Standard Density) |
Impact on Industrial Sealing |
|
Pressure Retention |
Seal maintains integrity under sustained pressure |
Seal may thin and weaken over time under pressure |
Industrial systems run continuously - seal must hold for years, not just during leak test |
|
Temperature Cycling |
Minimal dimensional change during thermal cycling |
Greater deformation with each temperature cycle |
Industrial piping experiences daily temperature swings - each cycle stresses the seal |
|
Vibration Resistance |
Dense tape resists displacement from vibration |
Softer tape can be vibrated out of position over time |
Pumps, compressors, and machinery create constant vibration - seal must stay put |
|
Long-Term Reliability |
Seal performance stable over 10+ years |
Seal may degrade within 1-3 years |
Industrial maintenance intervals are measured in years - rework is expensive |

- FAQS:
Q: What does "Industrial Teflon Tape" mean? Is it different from regular PTFE tape?
"Industrial Teflon Tape" and "PTFE thread seal tape" refer to the same product. "Teflon" is a DuPont brand name for PTFE (Polytetrafluoroethylene) - similar to how "Kleenex" is used for tissues. At FOREVERSEAL, all our tape is made from 100% virgin PTFE resin, not actual Teflon-brand material. The "industrial" designation refers to the Medium density (0.65 g/cm³) and thicker profile (0.2mm) suited for industrial-grade threaded connections.
Q: Which port do you ship from?
Shanghai and Ningbo are the nearest ports. We normally ship from Shanghai or Ningbo. FOB terms are standard, but we can accommodate EXW, CIF, and other terms upon request.
Q: Can we use our appointed forwarder?
Yes, absolutely. We normally do FOB terms, but we are flexible. If you have a preferred forwarder, just let us know and we will coordinate with them for pickup and shipping arrangements.
Q: What is your main market positioning?
We target the mid-to-high market - customers who need better quality products and are willing to pay for premium raw materials (DongYue/JuHua virgin PTFE), full certifications, and consistent batch quality. Our tape is not the cheapest on the market, and that is intentional: the cost of a leak far exceeds the cost of quality tape.
Q: Can I get a free sample before ordering?
Yes. We provide free samples for evaluation. Contact us with your specification requirements (width, thickness, density, color, spool size), and we will arrange sample shipment. For OEM/ODM customers, we can also produce custom samples with your logo and packaging design.
