What Is The Main Reason For The Edge Of Teflon Tape To Warp?

What is the main reason for the edge of Teflon tape to warp?

Teflon tape is widely used in various industries such as product packaging, electrical and electrical engineering, textile sizing, and plastic steel welding due to its excellent high temperature resistance and anti-sticking properties.

But sometimes the edges of the purchased Teflon tape will warp, which seriously affects production efficiency and increases production costs. What is the reason for this?

1. Improper selection of adhesives. Weak glue or problems with adhesive quality will cause warping. Therefore, when choosing adhesives, you should choose products with good quality and not too weak viscosity.

2. Poor control of Teflon tape lamination tension will also cause warping. If the label with too tight lamination tension is peeled off from the base paper, the label will be reversed, which will easily cause the label edge to debond and warp after labeling.

3. Unreasonable design of the shape of the Teflon tape labeling object will also cause warping. If the surface within the label range is partially spherical, when using paper labels for labeling, the labeling area is large, and the lower end is prone to wrinkling on both sides after labeling.

Generally speaking, when using the same adhesive for Teflon tape, the thicker the base material, i.e., the Teflon high-temperature cloth, the easier it is to warp up at the edge. Modern industry is mostly mass-produced, and Teflon tape production is no exception. Except for special customization, different thicknesses basically use the same adhesive. Therefore, it is necessary to select the appropriate thickness according to the actual use requirements. The thicker the Teflon tape, the better.
