advantages of Blue Thread Seal Tape

Effective sealing

The tape is thicker than other options, so it creates a more effective seal with less tape.

Easy to use

It's easy to apply and doesn't require pipe dope

Versatile

It can be used on a variety of materials, including iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, and more.

Temperature and pressure range

It's effective across a wide range of temperatures and pressures.

Prevents corrosion

It helps prevent electrolytic corrosion of threads.

Reliable performance

Many users appreciate its reliable performance for various plumbing needs.

Types of Blue Thread Seal Tape

Blue PTFE Sealing Tape

PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) is a high-performance plastic material with excellent chemical resistance and heat resistance. Blue PTFE sealing tape is commonly used for sealing gas and liquid pipelines, especially under high pressure and high temperature environments.

Blue Silicone Sealing Tape

Silicone is a high-temperature and cold-resistant rubber material with good elasticity and sealing properties. Blue silicone sealing tape is commonly used for pipeline sealing in the food, pharmaceutical and electronics industries.

Blue Rubber Sealing Tape

Rubber sealing tape has good elasticity and sealing properties and is suitable for sealing various pipes and pipe fittings. Blue rubber sealing tape is commonly used for sealing water, gas and oil pipelines.

Blue Polyurethane Sealing Tape

Polyurethane is a high-performance elastomeric material with excellent wear resistance and tear resistance. Blue polyurethane sealing tape is commonly used for pipeline sealing under high pressure and high temperature environments.

Material of Blue Thread Seal Tape

Blue Monster thread sealing tape is manufactured from PTFE resin, a polymer consisting of recurring tetrafluoroethylene monomers whose formula is (CF2-CF2)n. It is inert and compatible with a very wide range of materials.

Application of Blue Thread Seal Tape

Blue Monster PTFE Thread Seal Tape is a professional-density, blue-colored tape that can be used on a variety of materials, including iron, brass, copper, aluminum, stainless steel, and more. It can be used to seal fittings carrying water and oil at pressures up to 10,000 PSI.

How to use Blue Thread Seal Tape

Here are the steps for applying Blue Monster PTFE thread seal tape:

Clean the threads: Make sure the male and female threads are clean and free of debris.

Apply the tape: Start with the tape on the second thread from the end of the pipe.

Wrap the tape: Wrap the tape clockwise in the same direction the pipe will turn into the fitting. Keep the tape under tension so it molds into the thread.

Complete the wraps: Wrap the tape three to four times, finishing near the end of the threads.

Remove the tape: Pull the tape to rip it off. Smooth out the end so it blends into the wrapped area.

Maintenance Tips for Blue Thread Seal Tape

IMG6528-

Clean threads: Thoroughly clean the male and female threads.

Wrap clockwise: Wrap the tape around the male threads in the same direction the pipe will turn into the fitting.

Keep it taut: Keep the tape under tension as you wrap it so it molds into the thread.

Cover the threads: Make sure the tape covers the threads completely.

Add wraps: For poor quality threads, or threads that are hard to seal, you may need more than three wraps.

Avoid excess tape: Extra tape will get pushed out of the joint.

Use the right width: Use ½" (12mm) wide tape for fittings up to 1½" (38mm) in diameter, and 1" (25mm) wide tape for fittings larger than 2" (51mm) in diameter.

  • FAQS:
  •

Q: Do you have display box for the product?

A: Yes, we have, but the packing cost is more expensive

Q: Is ptfe tape really chemically resistant?

A: Actually, ptfe tape is immune to virtually all chemicals, including patrol and most acids.

Q: Do you have WRAS for the ptfe tape?

A: Yes, we have.

Q:What is blue thread tape used for?
A:A blue color-coded, professional-density, PTFE thread sealing tape for hundreds of applications. It creates dependable, leak-proof joints.

Q:Is thread sealant permanent?
A:Anaerobic thread sealant (pipe sealant) fills all of the voids or airspace between metal threads creating a permanent plastic seal. They do not shrink or relax over time.

Q:How does thread seal tape work?
A:The tape is sold cut to specific widths and wound on a spool, making it easy to wind around pipe threads. Thread seal tape lubricates, allowing for a deeper seating of the threads, and it helps prevent the threads from seizing when being unscrewed.

Q:Does thread seal tape stop leaks?
A:Standard PTFE tape is quite versatile and is used to seal water, gas, and air from leaking through threaded connections, most effective on high-pressure lines. However, there are also specialty thread seal tapes geared towards a specific task or need.

Q:Is thread seal tape waterproof?
A:PTFE (polytetrafluoroethylene) tape, also known as plumbers tape, is wrapped on a pipe to help create a leakproof seal between the threaded joint of a male pipe and a female fitting. Thread sealant is used in many industries for various applications requiring a watertight and airtight seal.

Q:How long does thread seal take to dry?
A:The rate of cure will depend on the ambient temperature. Full cure is attainable in 24 hours at room temperature, 72°F (22°C), or 1 hour at 200°F (93°C). The rate of cure will depend on the material used. Permatex® High Temperature Thread Sealant will react faster and stronger with Active Metals.

Q:Does thread seal stop leaks?
A:Since tapered pipe threads feature small voids between threads when connected, they need a malleable substance to fill that extra space and prevent leakage. Thread sealant tape is one of the most popular tools plumbers use to achieve this.

Q:What is thread seal used for?
A:Simply put, thread sealant is a material that fills the gaps at threaded pipe connections, preventing fluids from leaking out. Besides creating fluid-tight seals, pipe thread sealants also lubricate the threads, making assembly quicker.
