Plumbing tape for leaks with a lower density (<0.70 g/cm³) is used for sealing threaded joints in systems for water, compressed air, cooling, steam, and hydraulic applications. It is applicable to all types of materials (iron, metal, plastic, fiber, etc.). In general, plumbing tape for leaks is also suitable for systems with strict hygiene requirements (e.g., hospitals, the food industry, etc.).

Choosing the Right Color of Tape
Not all plumber's (Teflon) tape is the same, and the different types are color-coded according to their use:
White or pink tape
Commonly used by plumbers and pipe fitters for water lines; white is the more common type; pink is sturdier and often used by pipe fitters
