The cord should be wrapped tightly to ensure that it fills all the gaps and crevices. Continue wrapping the cord around the thread until it covers at least two-thirds of the thread length.
3: Once the thread is wrapped with the cord, reassemble the fitting and tighten it in place. It is essential to avoid over-tightening as this can damage the thread or cause the cord to dislodge. Tighten the fitting until it is snug, and then use a wrench to turn it an additional quarter turn to ensure a tight fit.

4: After installing the fitting, it is crucial to inspect it for any leaks. Turn on the water or gas supply and check for any visible leaks around the fitting. If there are no leaks, the sealing cord has successfully sealed the thread. If there is still a leak, repeat the installation process, and ensure that the cord is wrapped tightly and evenly around the thread.
