Description

Pipe Sealing Cord 150m by FOREVERSEAL - Reliable Thread Sealing for Large-Diameter Pipe Connections

FOREVERSEAL pipe sealing cord is a professional-grade thread sealing solution designed for large-diameter pipe connections where PTFE tape is impractical or difficult to apply. Unlike thin PTFE tape, our sealing cord is a pre-coated polyfiber thread impregnated with an inert proprietary sealing paste that fills thread gaps instantly upon assembly.

Each 150-meter spool provides enough material for approximately 150-300 connections (depending on thread size), making it ideal for high-volume plumbing contractors, commercial installers, and maintenance teams. The cord form factor allows fast, clean application on threads up to 4" in diameter - no wrapping, no tearing, no waste.

The inert sealing paste is non-toxic and safe for drinking water systems, making this cord suitable for potable water supply lines, residential and commercial plumbing, and food-grade applications. The cord remains flexible after installation, maintaining a pressure-tight seal up to 1,000 PSI across a working temperature range of -30°C to +149°C.

Key Advantages Over PTFE Tape

Speed: Apply in seconds - no wrapping, no counting turns. Brush the cord into threads and assemble. 3-5x faster than PTFE tape on large connections.

Large Threads: Handles up to 4" threaded connections where PTFE tape is difficult to wrap evenly and tends to bunch or tear.

Instant Seal: The pre-coated paste fills thread irregularities immediately - no curing time, no waiting for sealant to set.

Clean Application: No sticky mess, no dried-on paste, no tape scraps. The cord goes where you put it and stays there.

Removable: Connections can be disassembled and resealed with fresh cord - unlike threadlocker compounds that require heat or tools for removal.

Drinking Water Safe: Non-toxic inert paste is safe for potable water contact (confirm applicable certifications with our team for your market).

Long Shelf Life: Pre-coated cord remains workable for 24+ months when stored sealed and away from direct heat.

Application Speed

Fast - seconds per joint

Moderate - 30-60 seconds per joint

Max Thread Size

Up to 4" (excellent for large fittings)

Up to 2" typical (difficult on large threads)

Working Temp

-30 to +149°C

-268 to +260°C

Pressure Rating

<= 1,000 PSI

Up to 3,000 PSI (full density)

Chemical Resistance

Good (general water/plumbing)

Excellent (PTFE is chemically inert)

Drinking Water Safe

Yes (non-toxic paste)

Yes (virgin PTFE is inert)

Removability

Easy - disassemble and reseal

Easy - clean threads and re-wrap

Best For

Large threads, speed, drinking water

High temp, high pressure, chemicals, gas

Cost per Joint

Moderate (pre-coated convenience)

Low (tape is economical per joint)

Shelf Life

24+ months

Unlimited (PTFE is non-degrading)

Pro Tip: Use sealing cord for large-diameter water pipe connections (2"-4") and high-volume installation work where speed matters. Use PTFE tape for high-temperature, high-pressure, chemical, or gas applications.

Recommended Applications

Residential Water Supply: Seals threaded connections on hot and cold water supply lines, fixture installations, and appliance connections (dishwashers, water heaters, washing machines).

Commercial Plumbing: High-volume installers use 150m spools for batch connection work in commercial buildings, hotels, hospitals, and apartment complexes.

Drinking Water Systems: Non-toxic paste is safe for potable water contact. Suitable for water treatment plants, food & beverage production, and residential drinking water lines.

HVAC & Hydronic Heating: Seals threaded connections in hydronic heating systems, chilled water lines, and heat pump installations where moderate temperatures apply.

Irrigation & Agriculture: Seals threaded fittings in irrigation systems, sprinkler installations, and agricultural water distribution lines.

Maintenance & Repair: Maintenance teams carry cord for quick leak repairs - faster and cleaner than tape for emergency fixes on large fittings.

Industrial (General Purpose): Seals compressed air lines, low-pressure fluid lines, and general-purpose threaded connections up to 4" within temperature range.

Common Application Mistakes & Solutions

Mistake

Consequence

Correct Practice

Using too little cord

Insufficient thread gap fill - leaks under pressure

Use enough cord to fill all thread valleys with a single continuous layer

Double-wrapping like tape

Excess material bunches up, preventing proper fitting engagement

Single layer in thread grooves only - cord paste fills gaps, not cord quantity

Using on gas lines

Safety hazard - cord is not rated or certified for fuel gas

Use UL-certified Yellow PTFE Gas Line Tape (File No. MH48783) for gas applications

Exceeding temperature range

Paste degrades above +149°C, seal fails

Verify operating temperature stays within -30 to +149°C; use PTFE tape for higher temps

Not cleaning threads first

Debris prevents paste contact with metal, causing leaks

Always clean threads thoroughly before applying cord

Stretching cord too tight

Reduced paste coverage and thin spots

Let the cord sit naturally in grooves without stretching

Reusing old cord

Paste has dried, seal integrity compromised

Always use fresh cord from the spool for each new connection

Over-tightening fitting

Can damage threads regardless of sealant used

Tighten to manufacturer torque spec - do not crank past hand-tight + 1-2 turns
