Q: What's the difference between low-density and high-density PTFE tape?

A: Low-density tape (0.25 g/cm³) is thicker and easier to wrap by hand - ideal for residential plumbing. High-density tape (0.4 g/cm³) is thinner and denser - better suited for industrial and high-pressure applications where a tighter, more compact seal is needed.

 

Q: Does thread seal tape expire?

A: PTFE is chemically inert and non-degrading. When stored below 70°F (21°C) away from direct sunlight, our thread seal tape has an unlimited shelf life.

 

Q: Can I use thread seal tape on plastic threads?

A: Yes. PTFE tape works on both metal (brass, steel, copper) and plastic (PVC, CPVC, nylon) threaded fittings. For plastic-to-plastic connections, use gentle tightening force to avoid cracking the fitting.
