Heavy Duty Pink Teflon Tape

Heavy Duty Pink Teflon Tape is a heavy duty, high density tape with a density of approximately 1.0~1.5g/cm3. It is made of 100% PTFE, resistant to most common chemicals, and can seal threaded pipe connections with diameters between 12.7mm (1/2 inch) and 50.8mm (2 inches), at temperatures between -268C and +260C.

Polytetrafluoroethylene (PTFE) thread tape, commonly known as Teflon tape or pipe tape, is an essential tool used in plumbing and various industrial applications. Its primary purpose is to seal threaded pipe connections effectively, preventing the leakage of gases, water, or air. The tape achieves this by creating a tight seal that not only prevents leaks but also ensures that the connection remains secure over time.

One of the key benefits of PTFE thread tape is its ability to lubricate threads during assembly. This lubrication allows the threads to engage more smoothly, reducing the risk of cross-threading or damage to the threads. Additionally, when it comes time to disassemble the connection, the thread tape helps prevent the pipes from seizing or sticking together, making the process much easier.
 

Here are the five main colors of Teflon tapes:

White tape has a single density and is intended for widespread usage in drinking water and plumbing. It is not meant to be used in applications that carry oxygen.

Triple-density red/pink tape is intended for use with water pipes. For pipes with larger joints, this heavy-duty tape is appropriate. Plumbing applications in commercial and industrial settings frequently employ it. It should be noted that although this thread tape is pink, the box is red.

Double-density yellow tape is appropriate for fuel and gas lines. It satisfies all gas company requirements for natural gas and propane lines, among others.

 

Because green tape is grease- and oil-free, it helps avoid fires and is ideal for oxygen applications.

High-density silver tape has nickel particles infused in it. Its purpose is to keep threaded end connections made of stainless steel from galling or seizing.
